Two teams from Trillium Gymnastics Club here in Kingston were part of the over 300 athletes that attended the Pickering Rainbow Classic gymnastics competition on Sunday, Mar. 8, 2020.

Trillium’s Xcel and Pre-Competitive 3 teams participated in the competition – The Pre-Competitive 3 gymnasts compete in three meets annually, and are aged seven to nine years old, and the Xcel gymnasts compete in two meets each year and are aged eight to 13 years old. For some of the athletes that travelled to the Pickering Rainbow Classic, it was their first time participating in a gymnastics competition.

Similar to Women’s Artistic Gymnastics (WAG) qualifying events, the gymnasts competed in four different events: Uneven Bars, Balance Beam, Vault, and Floor Exercise. In additional to all of the athletes’ individual results, the Xcel Team earned a First Place Team Award based on their cumulative scores.
