OPP report two vehicles shot at with firearm in North Frontenac

An investigation is underway after at least one person armed with a firearm opened fire on two vehicles in “a remote part of North Frontenac,” according to the Ontario Provincial Police (OPP).

Officers from the Frontenac Detachment of the OPP responded to a “weapons complaint” on Schooner Road in North Frontenac at approximately 12 p.m. on Sunday, Mar. 12, 2023, according to police.

“The initial investigation indicates that on March 10, 2023, between 6:30 a.m. and 6:45 a.m., an unknown person(s) attended the area and fired several rounds from a firearm which struck two parked vehicles,” the OPP said in a press release on Tuesday, Mar. 14, 2023.

According to police, no injuries linked to this incident have been reported.

As police investigate, the Frontenac OPP are requesting public assistance to identify the person(s) involved.

Anyone who has further information about this incident, or who may be aware of the identity of anyone involved, is asked to contact the Frontenac OPP at 613-372-1932, or the OPP Communications Centre at 1-888-310-1122.

Anyone who would like to remain anonymous can call Crime Stoppers at 1-800-222-8477 (TIPS), where callers may be eligible for a cash reward of up to $2,000 for helpful information.
