As winter, and the holiday season, approach, the demand on food banks increases. To support the increased demand, the South Frontenac Ontario Provincial Police (OPP), Auxiliary OPP and students from the St. Lawrence police foundations program have partnered with the Southern Frontenac Community Services Corporation (SFCSC), to hold a “Stuff the Cruiser” food drive.

The food drive will take place from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m. on Saturday, Nov. 27, 2021, in the parking lot of Foodland in Sydenham, at 4476 Georgia Lane.

Donations of non-perishable items as well as cash donations will be accepted and will remain within the local community, according to a release from the OPP. The cash donations are important as they are used to buy fresh food and basic hygiene products, OPP said.

Police ask the community to take the opportunity to support others by donating to your local food bank.
