Kingston Police request public assistance to identify suspects in gunpoint robbery

Two males have been robbed in downtown Kingston, and police are looking for anyone with information regarding the incident, which involved a handgun.

The incident occurred in the early morning hours on Sunday, Mar. 17, 2019 when the two male victims were walking eastbound on the north side of Johnson Street near Frontenac Street. There, the victims encountered a group of males, one of whom intentionally bumped into one of the victims. A verbal altercation ensued and, as the victims walked away, the group of males chased after them. According to Kingston Police, when the victims turned to fight, a male suspect in the group pulled out a handgun and proceeded to rob both victims. The group of males then fled the area on foot.

The males were last seen running east on Johnson Street from Frontenac Street toward University Avenue at around 2 a.m.

Police say the males were described as bring roughly 5’10” in height, wearing dark clothing, hooded sweatshirts, and flat-brimmed baseball hats. One of the males was wearing Adidas jogging pants. The suspect who pointed the firearm was described as being slightly taller than the other males, and was wearing white jogging pants.
