This weekend, Kingston Fire & Rescue (KFR) members will be making a splash with a fundraising car wash in support of Hockey Helps the Homeless.

On Saturday, Sept. 9, 2023, everyone is invited to Fire Station 3, at 211 Gore Road, between 10 a.m. and 4 p.m., for the charity car wash.

According to a release from the City of Kingston, Hockey Helps the Homeless (HHTH) is a not-for-profit hockey organization partnered with more than 45 local homeless support agencies across Canada. One hundred per cent of net proceeds stay in the community.

This year in Kingston, HHTH is supporting the Integrated Care Hub and the One Roof community centre. Kingston firefighters will also accept donations toward the causes.

Since 1996, HHTH has granted $22 million to combat homelessness nationally, according to the City of Kingston.
