While Pride Month doesn’t officially kick off until Friday, June 1, the City of Kingston got a head start on showing its pride in a place for all to see – right in front of Kingston City Hall.

Overnight on Tuesday, May 29, Kingston Public Works Crews painted the courtesy crosswalk in front of City Hall, according to the City. The rainbow-coloured crosswalk, an undoubtable homage to the traditional Pride flag, was completed and ready to greet Kingstonians on their morning commutes Wednesday, May 30. Mayor Bryan Patterson said the installation is one way to “show support for our LGBTQ+ community and demonstrate everyone is welcome and valued here in our city.”

Stay tuned for more on upcoming Pride events throughout June.
