Youth charged with pointing a firearm

On October 8, 2018 at approximately 4:55 p.m. police were called to Mackenzie Crescent for a report of a male pointing a firearm. Information received by police was that a group of young males were arguing outside, when one male pulled a firearm out of a bag and pointed it at another.

Responding officers located the accused exiting the back of a building in the area. The bag had been stashed in a nearby residence and was turned over to officers. Kingston Police say the bag contained a clown mask, a rubber gas mask, a hunting knife, a bottle containing 1500 BB’s, and a semi-automatic Replica pellet gun.

A second male youth was also detained at the scene shortly thereafter. He was later released without charges.

The accused male was transported to police headquarters where he was later released with a future court date.

A 16-year-old youth is charged with pointing a firearm, carrying a concealed weapon, and possession of a weapon for a dangerous purpose.
