#ygkChallenge: Spring Cleaning
The #ygkChallenge is an ongoing series where we dare you to be different, resolve to be better, and or do something awesome in support of our beloved community. Each week, Kingstonist establishes a new, ambitious or quirky goal, encouraging you to step out of your comfort zone and do something great, and hopefully a little out of the ordinary. By taking part in this community-wide initiative, we hope to make Kingston (and the world) a slightly better place to live, work and play.
This week’s #ygkChallenge encourages you to:
Be a Spring Cleaning Champ! With the arrival of Spring comes the annual rite of tidying up areas inside your home that need a little TLC. So-called pros suggest that we should start by making a domestic to-do list, identifying tasks and rooms that require the most attention. This approach allows us to keep track of and celebrate our progress: one dust bunny at a time, one room at a time. Tasks should be divvied up, so that everybody pitches in. Include chores and areas that are routinely ignored, such as dusting the entire house, cleaning underneath/inside the couch, mopping floors, and freshening up upholstered furniture. Clean that fridge! Make that stove look brand new! Windows that shine! Help wayward clutter find a home and let go of underused items by donating them to local charities, or trying to make a few bucks on sites like Kijiji. And voila, after everybody chips in, your family deserves to be called spring cleaning champs.
