#ygkChallenge: Mo Money, Movember

Movember, Kingston, OntarioThe #ygkchallenge is an ongoing series where we dare you to be different, resolve to be better, and or do something awesome in support of our beloved community. Each week, Kingstonist establishes a new, ambitious or quirky goal, encouraging you to step out of your comfort zone and do something great, and hopefully a little out of the ordinary. By taking part in this community-wide initiative, we hope to make Kingston (and the world) a slightly better place to live, work and play.

This week’s #ygkchallenge encourages you to:

Mo Money, Movember! Those blank canvasses just north of the lips of men throughout Kingston are starting to sport lipholstery, whisker rugs, furry face furniture and so on! That’s right, the glorious mustaches are making their epic return during the month-long Movember campaign in support of men’s health. With prostate cancer being the most commonly diagnosed cancer amongst Canadian men, the much needed donations collected throughout November support the fight against prostate and testicular cancer, as well as the promotion of mental health. Support your friends who (try) to sport a sweet mo, by donating (if they’ve registered) via the Movember Foundation’s site. Go one step further by encouraging loved ones to get regular check-ups, spreading awareness and educating the public.

Join us in completing this week’s #ygkchallenge by liking it on Facebook and/or re-Tweeting it on Twitter. By liking and sharing, you’re not only committing to doing something great, but you’re also helping us spread the word and hopefully encouraging others to participate.
