#ygkChallenge: Check Out King Con 2016

King Con 2016, KFPL, Kingston, OntarioThe #ygkChallenge is an ongoing series where we dare you to be different, resolve to be better, and or do something awesome in support of our beloved community. Each week, Kingstonist establishes a new, ambitious or quirky goal, encouraging you to step out of your comfort zone and do something great, and hopefully a little out of the ordinary. By taking part in this community-wide initiative, we hope to make Kingston (and the world) a slightly better place to live, work and play.

This week’s #ygkChallenge encourages you to:

Check out King Con 2016. Grab your cape or your Catan board and head downtown for a weekend of fun in downtown Kingston. Starting today and running throughout the weekend, KFPL is hosting King Con 2016, a local convention celebrating science fiction, fantasy, gaming, & comic books. With the help of local partners including Minotaur, Improbable Escapes, The Frontenacs and Kingston Gaming Nexus, to name a few, King Con will host a wide array of events from workshops and Q&As to dance parties and Star Wars themed hockey games.  The weekend will also include a vendor’s marketplace showcasing the work of a variety of artists, cartoonists and game developers, an Adult Lego Night, board game tournaments, escape rooms, and workshops directed specifically at children. Check out the full schedule and you’ll quickly see that there is a whole lot of fantastical fun for everyone happening in downtown ygk this weekend.

Join us in completing this week’s #ygkchallenge by liking it on Facebook and/or re-Tweeting it on Twitter. By liking and sharing, you’re not only committing to doing something great, but you’re also helping us spread the word and hopefully encouraging others to participate.
