#ygkChallenge: Make Someone Happy
The #ygkChallenge is an ongoing series where we dare you to be different, resolve to be better, and or do something awesome in support of our beloved community. Each week, Kingstonist establishes a new, ambitious or quirky goal, encouraging you to step out of your comfort zone and do something great, and hopefully a little out of the ordinary. By taking part in this community-wide initiative, we hope to make Kingston (and the world) a slightly better place to live, work and play.
This week’s #ygkChallenge encourages you to:
Make Someone Happy. While it’s far from a national holiday or internationally recognized, today just happens to be “I Want You to be Happy Day!”. While I believe that we are largely in charge of our own respective states of happiness, it goes without saying that we can also have a profound influence on one another’s moods. Therefore, what better day than today to help make someone else feel awesome? Compliments, helping hands, generous favours and even the slightest of gestures go a long way to making someone else’s day. Plus, the feeling you get from contributing to a friend, family member or even a complete stranger’s sense of well-being reflects back and contributes to your own sense of joy. Attitudes are contagious, so go on out there and spread those positive vibes. What will you do to help make someone happy?
Join us in completing this week’s #ygkchallenge by liking it on Facebook and/or re-Tweeting it on Twitter. By liking and sharing, you’re not only committing to doing something great, but you’re also helping us spread the word and hopefully encouraging others to participate.
