#ygkChallenge: DIY Gift Tags
The #ygkchallenge is an ongoing series where we dare you to be different, resolve to be better, and or do something awesome in support of our beloved community. Each week, Kingstonist establishes a new, ambitious or quirky goal, encouraging you to step out of your comfort zone and do something great, and hopefully a little out of the ordinary. By taking part in this community-wide initiative, we hope to make Kingston (and the world) a slightly better place to live, work and play.
This week’s #ygkchallenge encourages you to:
Recycle Yours Cards into Gift Tags! 2014 and the holidays are now a fading memory, and the only reminder of the year that was and the endless seasonal cheer is a massive stack of cards collecting dust in the corner. From gaudy Anniversary notices to cheesy Christmas cards and glitter-clad birthday badges, we’ve got them all. Rather than wrestle them into the recycling bin, why not re-use what we can with a bit of creative scissor work? You can easily create half a dozen square or rectangular gift tags with just the front side of a card. This is a fantastic project to tackle on these cold winter nights. Get fancy with your design, divert waste from your recycling bin, and save yourself a few bucks by crafting some unique tags that will be a hit for every gift giving experience.
