Wheeler Pancake House, Little Cataraqui Conservation Area, Kingston, OntarioMaple Madness! As the weather warms and the sap starts to flow, find your way to a sugar shack to enjoy the smell of mapley warm steam and perhaps a pancake or two while you’re at it. Whether you head to Little Cataraqui Conservation Area or go further afield following the Wheeler Pancake House signs that (eventually) lead you not only to a restaurant but a Museum where many of Vernon Wheeler’s maple syrup production artefacts are on display. Wheeler holds the Guinness world record for the largest collection. The above photo is from the A. A. Chesterfield album of “Notables” depicting quintessential “Canadian” activities and scenes.
