Remembering Darryl Silver

Claude and Shirley Silver announce the passing of their son Darryl Elwood Silver, after a brief bout with stomach cancer. He died peacefully at KGH at the age of 58. Loving husband of Laura, devoted father of Hannah & Kyle, dear brother of David, uncle of James & great-uncle of Rhys.

Born on September 23,1965 in Kingston. He attended Loughborough Public School, Sydenham High School, and Niagara Horticultural College. After graduating he worked for St. Lawrence Parks Commission at Old Fort Henry and Fairfield House in Amherstview where he acquired his passions for all things historic. His passion for antiques became a lifelong fascination when he took over the family produce business. He added greenhouses and built a rustic timber frame sales barn, which he loaded with his antiques local to the area and from around the world. He was always contributing to the community, from school field trips through the greenhouses to building the Sydenham medical clinic on the SilverBrook home farm. He was a true entrepreneur and will always be remembered as a good guy, to know him was to love him.

Cremation has taken place. As per Darryl’s wishes, there will be no visitation or funeral, but there will be a celebration of life, at a later date.

Memorial donations may be made to Sydenham Grace Centre, the Kingston Humane Society or The Sydenham and District Lions Club.
