Obituary of Kelly Colby

It is with deep sadness that the family of Kelly Colby announces her unexpected passing on September 26, 2023 of natural causes at the age of 45 years. Kelly will be lovingly remembered by her parents Maureen and Bob Bergeron and David Colby; siblings Matthew (Lisa) Colby, Katherine (Mark) Joyce, Jenna (Lucien) Poirier, Shannelle (Nathan) Lagrandeur, Thomas, and Isabelle; nieces Madison, Grace, Olivia, Emma, Aria and Maëline; nephews Anthony, Koby and Théodore; numerous aunts, uncles, relatives and friends and her beloved beagles.

Kelly was a selfless, kind hearted, humble and loving daughter, sister, aunt and friend to many. She never wanted to be in the limelight but was always the first to offer to help and to be there when you needed her. Kelly was well-organized and a hard worker. She purchased her home at 18 years old and completed her Bachelor’s Degree shortly thereafter. She was a valued employee at Queen’s University having worked there for 27 years. Kelly loved her beagles; Abbey, Bella, Chloe and Piper. She loved when puppies arrived and was always sad she couldn’t keep the whole litter. We are sure she will be lovingly greeted by her grandparents, uncles and beagles in heaven.

The family will receive friends at the Township Chapel of the Gordon F. Tompkins Funeral Homes, 435 Davis Drive (Centennial at Taylor-Kidd) on Thursday October 5, between the hours of 6-8 pm. The funeral service in celebration of her life will be held in our chapel on Friday, October 6, at 11:00 am with a reception to follow.
