Obituary of Joseph Andre Bergeron
With deep sorrow, the family of Andre Bergeron announces his passing on August 28, 2023. He is survived by his sisters Theresa (Jack), Lynn and brother Bob (Maureen). Predeceased by his parents Roger and Vera Bergeron and sister Susan. He will be dearly missed by his family and friends including his many cherished nieces and nephews.
He was a brilliant man whose brilliance was inevitably diminished by the ravages of schizophrenia and the medication required. Despite his lifelong battle with schizophrenia, he remained kind, empathic and optimistic. Never one to complain, always grateful for even the smallest kindness.
His family would like to express their deep gratitude to Home Base Housing and all those who have cared for him over the years especially his family physician Dr. Chandrarajan. His downtown friends and many downtown business owners were such an important part of his life.
We invite all his friends to a funeral service that will be held at Kingston Standard Church on Saturday, September 9th at 10:30 a.m. As expressions of sympathy donations to Home Based Housing or Kingston Standard Church would be appreciated.
Very sad to see this. I would often talk with Andre outside Starbucks on Princess and more often share coffee together. I stopped going to my Remax office downtown when covid hit and unfortunately lost track of Andre. My loss. My condolences to his family.
