Obituary for the late Corália Correia Reid

Corália Maria Moniz Correia Reid
March 17, 1949 – July 24, 2023

After a long, valiant and spirited battle with lung cancer, Corália Maria Moniz Correia Reid, daughter of Manuel Francisco Correia and Noémia Moniz Pacheco, passed away on July 24 at Providence Care Hospital. Corália was the much-beloved wife of Gregory Reid and mother of Vincent Manuel Correia Reid. She leaves behind many friends and relatives in Portugal, especially her sister, Lorena Botelho and the Botelho family, and many friends and relatives in Canada, especially the Acland and Reid families.

Corália was a talented and accomplished artist, a teacher and linguist, and political activist in the Movement for Democratic Elections during the dictatorship in Portugal. Corália was loved for her poise, charm and beauty, as well as her fierce intellect.

As Corália has requested, there will be no funeral or memorial. We will keep her with us in our memories and our hearts.
