Obituary for Robert Shipton

Robert Wayne Shipton, (Bob) – passed peacefully at home on Devil lake, Westport Ontario, August 2, 2023. Bob leaves a legacy of kindness and compassion that will forever be etched in the hearts of those who knew him. Devoted husband of 65 years to Shirley, his lifelong dance partner. Bob was father to Timothy (Janice), David (Sandra), Laurie (Chris), and Kathleen. Grandpa to 12 beautiful grandchildren and 10 precious great-grandchildren.

Bob played an instrumental role in the growth and success of Shipton’s Heating and Cooling Ltd. in Hamilton, Ontario following in his Father’s footsteps as a second-generation leader. The company will celebrate it’s 100th Anniversary next year. Bob sat on the boards of Wesley Urban Ministries and Victoria Park Homes in Hamilton for many years. He was generous with his time, always willing to lend a hand or a listening ear. Being an avid outdoorsman, he spent many precious moments with friends and family in the bush and on the lake. He always looked to and encouraged others to get something good out of each day.
