In Memory of Iris Bjork

It is with great sadness that we announce the passing of our beloved mother G. Iris Bjork (nee Lewington) on Friday, September 8, 2023, after a short illness.
She is predeceased by parents Victor and Doris Lewington, brother William (Bill) Lewington (Dorothy)and brother Robert (Nicky) Lewington (Brigitte).
Iris is survived by her son Robbin Bjork, daughters Heidi Cuell (Micheal), and Ingrid Bjork (Randy Brooks). She also leaves behind five grandchildren Brian, Alexander, Garrett, Morgan, Amber, many cousins, nieces and nephews.
Iris was born on October 26, 1935, in Iberville, Quebec. After serving in the military, she moved to Montreal where she worked at Chambly County High School. She left Quebec and made Ottawa her home where she worked at the Canada Council for the Arts (Ballet) until her retirement.
Iris went to Edmonton, AB, where she made many friends and tutored French. After leaving Edmonton, she settled in Kingston, ON.
No matter where she was, Iris was always involved with the Anglican Church singing in the choirs. She was also a member of the Ottawa Welsh Choir and sang at Carnagie Hall and traveled to Wales and England. She had a passion for animals and rescued many in her lifetime.
The children would like to thank Carressant Care in Marmora, ON and Burnbrae Gardens in Campbellford, ON.
A Funeral will be held at Christ Church Cataraqui in Kingston, ON at 1:00 pm on the 16th of September 2023.
In lieu of flowers, donations to the Humane Society or Sandy Pines Wildlife Centre, Kingston, ON are greatly appreciated.
