Yarker driver arrested after single vehicle collision in Loyalist Township

After losing control of her vehicle and landing it in a ditch, a Yarker woman is facing impaired driving charges.
At approximately 5:30 p.m. on Thursday, Jan. 27, 2022, officers of the Lennox and Addington (L&A) County Detachment of the Ontario Provincial Police (OPP) responded to a report of a motor vehicle collision on County Road 6 in Loyalist Township.
According to a release from the OPP, the driver of a northbound vehicle lost control and entered the ditch just north of Simmons Road in Loyalist Township. Police located the vehicle and noted that three occupants were inside.
Officers determined that the driver was showing signs of impairment, according to the release. The driver was subsequently arrested and transported to detachment for processing and police said that arrangements were made for the passengers to be picked up. No injuries were reported.
L&A County OPP has charged Emily Sauve, age 26, of Yarker, with:
- Operation while impaired – alcohol and drug; and
- Operation of a motor vehicle while over legal blood alcohol limit.
Sauve was released on an undertaking and is scheduled to appear at the Ontario Court of Justice in Greater Napanee later this month. Her licence was suspended for 90 days and the vehicle was impounded for seven days. She will be responsible for all related fees and fines.
