Workers needed for upcoming election – and it pays $200+ per day

If you have taken an interest in the municipal election, and you’re interested in making $200 or more in one day, the City of Kingston has an opportunity for you.

The Kingston Elections Office is now accepting applications for the following positions: site supervisors, deputy returning officers, machine operators, and greeters/demonstrators to work at various voting locations throughout the city. Election workers are wanted to work on Advance Voting Day (Saturday, Oct. 13, 2018) and on Voting Day (Monday, Oct. 22). Successful applicants will be required to attend a mandatory training session.

“Please consider applying to work at a voting place this election. We need people with strong computer and customer service skills,” said Janet Jaynes, assistant returning officer for the City of Kingston.

“If you are applying for more than one position, you will need to fill out a separate application for each position.”

Each available position pays at least $200 per day, including the training session. The pay rates for available positions are:

  • Greeters/demonstrators: $200 per day
  • Machine operators: $200 per day
  • Deputy returning officer: $225 per day
  • Site supervisors: $249 per day.

The deadline to apply is Friday, Sept. 7, 2018, and the detailed job descriptions and list of qualifications can be found here: www.cityofkingston.ca/city-hall/elections/employment.
