A woman has been arrested after allegedly stealing a truck and colliding with multiple vehicles on Highway 2 in Kingston’s east end on the morning of Friday, December 20.
According to Kingston Police, after crashing the stolen truck into multiple vehicles at around 9:30 a.m., the female fled the scene, however was arrested shortly thereafter.
Kingston Police also say that a dog, which had been in the truck when it was stolen, was recovered at the scene in good condition.
There were no injuries in the collision.
The woman has been charged with two counts of theft under $5000, dangerous driving, driving while impaired by drug, and failing to remain at the scene of a collision.
This woman passed my wife and I this morning (Friday December 20) on County Road #2 at very high speed (130 – 140) as we were driving from Gananoque to Kingston. We commented at the time that the driver was reckless as there was an oncoming vehicle. We were passed by the Military Police with siren and lights while coming down the hill just past #2 and Hwy #15 and weren’t totally surprised when we saw that the truck had caused an accident. We’re glad to know that everyone is okay including the nice dog we saw sitting in the truck and that the police caught the driver.
Not often I hear the military police get involves outside of juristiction. Good teamwork!
Any updates as to names?
