Winter travel advisory in effect for Kingston and area

Environment Canada has issued a winter weather travel advisory for Kingston and the area as of 3:10 p.m. on Tuesday, Mar. 5, 2019.
The advisory extends into early this evening, as areas of heavy snow are expected to continue this evening.
“These areas of snow will move south early this evening, affecting areas near the St. Lawrence River early this evening. The snow will be quite fast moving. As a result snowfall amounts are not expected to be significant,” Environment Canada said.
“However, driving conditions will be poor as the band swings though.”
Environment Canada also issued an advisory for the Napanee, Consecon, Picton, and Sandbanks areas, where near whiteout conditions have been reported. The snow is now moving towards Kingston.
Please use caution when driving and walking, and refrain from travel if possible.
