Environment Canada has issued a wind warning for Kingston and the area on Friday, Mar. 20, 2020.

The warning, which is in effect for Kingston, Odessa, Frontenac Islands, Napanee, Consecon, Picton, and Sandbanks Park, advises of strong winds reaching up to 100 km/h beginning around noon.

“In the wake of the warm front this morning, strong southwesterly winds gusting up to 100 km/h are forecast to develop,” Environment Canada said in the warning. “These strong winds will begin near noon today and continue for a few hours before shifting to the northwest and easing by early this evening.”

The national weather agency advises that high winds may toss loose objects, cause tree limbs to break, and/or cause power outages.
