Wind warning for Kingston and area

Environment Canada has issued a Wind Warning for Kingston, Odessa, Frontenac Islands, Napanee , and Consecon, with very strong winds expected on Sunday.
Environment Canada is forecasting very strong wind gusts near 90 km/h, with the possibility of localized gusts in excess of 100 km/h. As a result of these, widespread power outages may occur. These are expected to begin on Sunday morning and continue through to the afternoon.
“Strong southwest winds will develop Sunday morning or early afternoon ahead of a cold front moving through southern Ontario,” Environment Canada said in its advisory. “Isolated thunderstorms are possible along this cold front, which may bring localized wind gusts in excess of 100 km/h. Winds will gradually ease on Sunday evening.”
“Loose objects may be tossed by the wind and cause injury or damage,” Environment Canada continued. “High winds may toss loose objects or cause tree branches to break. Be prepared to adjust your driving with changing road conditions due to high winds.”
