What’s open and closed in Kingston for Labour Day 2018
September already?! One last day and it’s pretty much a wrap, for all intents and purposes, for summer of 2018. Here’s a list of what’s open and closed in Kingston this Labour Monday so that you can make the most of your day.
Business:
All city administrative offices will be closed Monday, including Utilities Kingston offices. There will be no garbage, green bin or recycling collection on Monday, with collection moving to the day after your normal pickup. Banks will be closed on Monday. Provincial and Federal government offices will also be closed. City buses will run on a Sunday schedule, and Kingston Access Services will also be limited on Monday.
Shopping:
Most grocery stores will be open during regular business hours on Monday, as will shopping malls. Most hardware stores will be open but operating on reduced hours. The LCBO and Beer Store will be closed.
Recreation:
Artillery Park, INVISTA Centre, and city arenas will also be closed on Monday, although Tomlinson Aqua Park will be open, as will splash pads and wading pools throughout the city. The Grand Theatre box office is closed Monday. If you’re fancying a little bit of history and heritage this long weekend, Fort Henry and Bellevue House will be open, but the McLachlan Woodworking Museum, Kingston Pen Tours and the Pump House Steam Museum will be closed. Kingston area libraries will also be closed on Monday.
