West-end patios open for business
Outdoor dining is one of the first options available to hungry Ontarians as the province reopens from months of lockdown. Kingston’s west end has a fabulous collection of patios ready to serve you.
Patio dining is an amazing way to enjoy the summer months, support local restaurants, and start getting back to a feeling of normalcy. Here, these west-end restaurants owners share their excitement at being able to open their patios and get back to serving diners in-person.

Raxx – 665 Development Drive
Yes Kingston! The rumours are true! Here at RAXX we have built a beautiful patio that can accommodate up to 80 guests, safely distancing in accordance with public health guidelines.
The RAXX patio opened on Tuesday, June 15, 2021, and we cannot wait to serve you! Tell your family, tell your friends… you don’t want to miss your best patio experience this summer. Cheers!
Bella Bistro – 4050 Bath Road
We are all so excited to welcome everyone to our waterside patio this summer! Bella Bistro’s legendary thai chicken dish, best burgers + fries, amazing fish specials and fish + chip Fridays, pizzas + the freshest salads — all available on a shaded patio by the water. Enjoy our freshly juiced watermelon lemonade cocktail or a local beer — we can’t wait to serve you!
Our June hours will be Wednesday and Thursday 2 to 9 p.m., Friday and Saturday 11:30 a.m. to 9 p.m. We will be updating our hours for July/August. We take reservations for the patio and walk-ins are also welcome.
J.A.K.K. Tuesdays – 642 Progress Avenue
Welcome back to J.A.K.K.’S! We are locally owned and operated and have been serving Kingston since 2005. Check out our full menu, ice-cold beverages, lots of TVs and, of course. great service. Stop by our patio and say “Hi!” Try our famous Pepper Burger, our mouth-watering wings, or our amazing clubhouse sandwich!
J.A.K.K. Tuesdays Sports Pub, a little bit of cheers in the west end of Kingston. Find us at 642 Progress Ave. and 613-634-6884. Open Sunday and Monday 11 a.m. to 6 p.m., and Tuesday to Saturday 11 a.m. to 8 p.m.
Smoke ‘N’ Barrel – 627 Fortune Crescent
We traveled throughout the United States learning all there is to know about BBQ. We ate at over 150 restaurants, spent time in the kitchens talking to owners and pitmasters, and brought the best of BBQ back with us to Kingston.
Now we’re ready to serve you on our outdoor patio from 11 a.m. to 11 p.m. daily. We offer limited reservations and have space for walk-in traffic.
While you’re here, don’t forget to sample our whiskey selection – we have over 100 bottles, and many great local beer and cocktail options, as well!
