Special weather statement in effect for Kingston area

Environment Canada has issued a Special weather statement for:

• Kingston – Odessa – Frontenac Islands
• Napanee – Consecon
• Picton – Sandbanks Park

Strong southwesterly wind gusts are expected Wednesday evening.

Strong southwesterly winds gusting 90 km/h are expected to develop early Wednesday evening. The strongest wind gusts will be along exposed areas of the Lake Ontario shoreline.

Winds will ease Wednesday night.

These strong winds are the result of a low pressure system moving over Lake Huron and Georgian Bay late Wednesday.
