Freezing rain warning issued for Kingston and area

Environment Canada has issued a freezing rain warning for Kingston, Odessa, Frontenac Islands, Napanee, and Consecon.
Periods of rain and freezing rain are expected to develop Sunday afternoon and continue into Monday.
The freezing rain may taper off briefly overnight but will redevelop early Monday and continue through the day. The freezing rain will finally transition to snow or rain Monday afternoon.
Ice accretion or build-up of 10 to 15 mm is possible and widespread power outages are likely.
As of Sunday night, Hydro One is expecting that the combination of ice accumulation and high winds will cause hundreds of power outages affecting more than 100,000 of its customers across the province.
Travel is expected to be very poor Sunday afternoon through Monday afternoon.
