Weapons seized, four charged in Frontenac, L&A Counties

Four individuals are facing charges after members of the East Region Community Street Crime Unit (CSCU) of the Ontario Provincial Police (OPP) executed two search warrants last week.

Shortly before 8 p.m. on Wednesday, Mar. 20, 2024, the first search warrant was executed by the East Region CSCU at a residence on Flinton Road in Lennox & Addington County. According to a release from the Lennox & Addington Detachment of the OPP, one person was located in the residence and arrested, and police seized a crossbow, assorted ammunition, and a firearms magazine.

As a result of this investigation, OPP has charged Emily Woodcock, age 23, of Arden, Ontario, with:

  • Failure to comply with release order – other than to attend court

Woodcock was released from custody and is scheduled to appear at the Ontario Court of Justice in Napanee in April 2024.

Later that evening, shortly after 10 p.m. a search warrant was executed at a residence on Queen Street in Arden, located west of Sharbot Lake, just south of Highway 7. Three people were located in the residence and arrested. According to the release, police seized a long gun and a crossbow.

As a result of this investigation, OPP has charged Dylan Godfrey-Kellar, age 28, of Kingston, Ontario, with:

  • Unauthorized possession of a firearm
  • Careless storage of a firearm, weapon, prohibited device or ammunition
  • Knowledge of unauthorized possession of a firearm
  • Two counts of failure to comply with release order – other than attend court
  • Two counts of failure to comply with probation order

Also charged is Jeremy Teeple, age 46, of Arden, Ontario, with the following:

  • Unauthorized possession of a firearm
  • Careless storage of a firearm, weapon, prohibited device or ammunition
  • Knowledge of unauthorized possession of a firearm
  • Fail to comply with release order – other than court

The OPP also charged Patrick French, age 31, of Central Frontenac Township, Ontario, with:

  • Unauthorized possession of a firearm
  • Careless storage of a firearm, weapon, prohibited device or ammunition
  • Knowledge of unauthorized possession of a firearm
  • Fail to comply with probation order

These three accused were held for a bail hearing and are scheduled to appear at the Ontario Court of Justice in Greater Napanee on a later date. 

It should be noted that this is the second warrant executed in the Arden area which led to the seizure of firearms in less than a year, and that one of the accused above was arrested and charged in the previous case.
