Wanted Kingston man arrested after providing false identification to police

A Kingston man wanted on warrants out of Alberta and Ontario was arrested at a midtown apartment building after providing false identification to the police.
Police were called to the building on Monday, Jun. 3, 2019 with regard to the accused man, who had been trespassing on the property.
Police learned that the accused had been observed in various areas of the apartment building where he was not authorized to be. Police were also informed that the accused was observed using a screwdriver to open the main door to the building.
Police located the accused man in an apartment within the building. Upon being questioned, he provided false identification. Further investigation by police revealed the true identity of the accused and it was discovered that he was also wanted on the warrants out of Alberta and Ontario.
The accused was arrested and transported to police headquarters where he was held to attend a bail hearing the following day.
The 36-year-old local man was charged with obstructing police and breach of probation.
