Vote for your favourite downtown Window Wonderland

Every year businesses in downtown Kingston decorate their windows for the holiday season. Starting Saturday, Nov. 21, 2020 you can vote for your favourite display.

“The businesses in Downtown Kingston! take great care to make sure their windows sparkle for the holidays,” says Marilyn Doherty, Projects Manager and Marketing for Downtown Kingston! (DK!) “They pull out the twinkle lights, fluff up some “snow” and dress their merchandise up in the spirit of the season. For shoppers, there’s nothing like walking down the street on a snowy winter day and stopping to smile at the lovely display along the street.”

The holiday window display contest “Window Wonderland” is a time-honoured tradition in which businesses take part in a friendly competition to see who has the best Holiday Window, according to a release from DK! dated Friday, Nov. 20, 2020. In the past, a team of judges took to the street to decide winners in various categories. This year things are going to be a little bit different.

“After a consultation with the Head of Holiday Spirit (Santa Claus himself!), it was decided that there should only be one winner,” Doherty continued. “The best Holiday Window will be determined by the votes of judges and Kingstonians who can visit in-store or online at downtownkingston.ca to see all the wonderful windows. Always maintain physical distancing based on KFL&A Public Health guidelines.”

Vote for your favourite window display online at on the Downtown Kingston! website and be entered into a draw for a $50 gift card to the winning business, only one vote per person. Head downtown soon, as voting starts Saturday, Nov. 21, 2020 at 9 a.m. and ends Friday, Dec. 11, 2020 at 11:59 p.m.

The Window Wonderland Winner as well as the lucky voter will be announced on December 14th.
