Visits suspended to Regional Treatment Centre at Millhaven Institution due to viral gastroenteritis

Visits have been suspended at the Ontario Regional Treatment Centre at Millhaven Institution as a precautionary measure due to gastroenteritis virus, according to a press release from Correctional Services Canada (CSC).

Due to several inmates showing symptoms of gastroenteritis virus (an intestinal virus sometimes referred to as ‘stomach flu’), visits have been suspend to the Regional Treatment Centre, where inmates receive medical attention.

“CSC is working with health authorities in order to resolve the situation as soon as possible,” the press release reads.

“CSC is committed to provide a safe and healthy environment for all staff, offenders and members of the public.”
