The Ontario Provincial Police (OPP) have laid charges after a driver involved in a collision last week was found to be impaired by alcohol.

Members of the Frontenac Detachment of the OPP responded to the collision shortly after 9 p.m. on Friday, Dec 13, 2019. The collision occurred on Rutledge Road, west of Wilmer Road. The ensuing investigation found that the male driver of the single vehicle involved was under the influence of alcohol.

As a result, Peter Murphy, 51, of Verona was charged with having over 80 mg of alcohol in his blood while operating a motor vehicle.

Additionally, Murphy’s driver’s licence was suspended for 90 days, and his motor vehicle was impounded for seven days. Murphy will be responsible for all related fees and fines. He was later released on a promise to appear in the Ontario Court of Justice in Kingston.
