Update: ATM theft suspect returns money to police

The woman Kingston Police were looking to identify in relation to a theft at an ATM has made contact with police herself.
Kingston Police released photos of the woman, who had taken a substantial amount of money from a drive-thru ATM after someone mistakenly left it behind, on Wednesday, Oct. 24, 2018. According to police, the suspect went to Kingston Police Headquarters and turned in the stolen money on Friday, Oct. 26.
“The suspect was spoken to by the investigating Detective and cautioned regarding criminal charges,” police said in a news update on their website.
“In the end, the suspect did the right thing by turning in the money that did not belong to her and the cash was returned to the victim.”
The woman was not charged, according to Const. Cameron Mack, media relations officer for Kingston Police.
