UHKF launches text-to-give campaign for Giving Tuesday

On Giving Tuesday, a global movement focused on giving in our communities, the University Hospitals Kingston Foundation (UHKF) is launching a new fundraising initiative.
The text-to-give mobile giving campaign. will support area health care and is launching Tuesday, Dec. 1, 2020. For the month of December, Kingston and surrounding communities will have the opportunity to donate to UHKF by simply sending a text.
“This is a new way UHKF is raising money, and it’s at your fingertips!” explains Wayne Owens, UHKF Board Chair. “Text iCare to 20222 to make a one-time donation of $10 or $20. Donations will support Kingston Health Sciences Centre (KHSC) and Providence Care. These healthcare organizations have constant needs to provide care to patients, clients and residents.”
UHKF is partnering with Mobile Giving Foundation Canada to bring this innovative fundraising tool to donors in the community, according to a release from UHKF dated Monday, Nov. 30, 2020.
“COVID-19 has changed the way we fundraise at the Foundation,” says Lori Faggiani, Director of Annual Programs at UHKF. “UHKF’s text-to-give mobile giving campaign allows donations to be processed quickly with the donation charged on the donor’s phone bill. After the donation is processed, a tax receipt will be available. This is one of the ways we hope to inspire giving this holiday season.”
Consider donating to UHKF on December 1 – Giving Tuesday. According to the release, donations support research, programs, equipment, education and facilities at KHSC and Providence Care.
