UHKF hosting online silent auction in support of Kingston hospitals

During the current COVID-19 pandemic, the annual University Hospitals Kingston Foundation (UHKF) Benefit Dinner had to be cancelled in March.
With the Benefit Dinner serving as one of the Foundation’s larger annual fundraisers, the blow was a difficult one to take, especially during a time when support for local hospitals is so critical. Luckily, UHKF was able to take a sad situation and turn it into a great opportunity for residents locally and across the province to help support the hospitals that serve them. The many community organizations and individuals who had donated items to for the Benefit Dinner’s silent auction generously agreed to have those items put into an online silent auction supporting UHKF, and therefore the hospitals the foundation benefits.
“Local businesses and community members have been so supportive of the Benefit Dinner and healthcare in our region and we are so grateful for their support,” said Lori Faggiani, Director of Annual Programs at UHKF. “They have donated wonderful items for this auction and we are excited to give you this opportunity to support our hospitals with your online silent auction bid.”
With a wide variety of items, from weekend getaways and staycations, to gift packages and certificates from some of Kingston’s most celebrated stores and restaurants, the online auction promises something for every taste – a shopper’s delight during a time when shopping is only done as a necessity, particularly when the proceeds are going to such a worthy cause. On top of that, there are a number of unique items and experiences up for grabs, including sailing and flying packages to explore Kingston from a new angle, personal chef experiences, and even a live band for your next event or party!
According to the UHKF, proceeds from the silent auction will support programs and equipment to enhance patient care at Kingston Health Sciences Centre and Providence Care.
The online auction will open to the public on Thursday, Apr. 23, 2020 at 12 p.m. and run until Thursday, Apr. 30, 2020 at 8 p.m. For more information and to view the online auction, click here.
