Starting today, Monday, May 6, 2024, University Hospitals Kingston Foundation canvassers will visit neighbourhoods to encourage people to become monthly donors.

University Hospitals Kingston Foundation (UHKF) is the charitable foundation supporting Kingston Health Sciences Centre and Providence Care. According to the organization, it inspires generosity for the health of families in our region and beyond. UHKF raises funds for healthcare facilities, programs, equipment, education and research that benefit the 500,000 people living in Kingston, southeastern Ontario, and beyond.

According to a media release, the door-to-door campaign will run for several weeks, and the donations collected will help save lives and improve health outcomes for the entire community.

UHKF has partnered with GlobalFaces Direct to assist with the campaign. According to the release, all canvassers are trained professionals and will have identification badges. To process donations, canvassers will use tablets with encrypted software to collect personal and financial information in a secure manner. All the data collected is immediately uploaded to remote servers, processed, and completely removed from the tablet, according to the release. Once processed, financial data is reportedly further encrypted according to Payment Compliance Industry (PCI) Standards.

If there are concerns, GlobalFaces Direct has provided a toll-free number the public can call to verify canvassers: 833-341-0106.

“Please consider joining the UHKF’s monthly donor community today. The support makes a difference in the lives and health of Kingston and southeastern Ontario residents,” organizers expressed.
