Tyendinaga man arrested after report of possible gunshot

An individual from Tyendinaga is facing charges after a possible gunshot was reported at a residence on Deserontyon Drive.
According to the Tyendinaga Police Service, on Sunday, Nov. 19, 2023, officers responded to the disturbance and found a male inside the residence smashing windows and property inside. Police were alerted to the situation just after 9:30 p.m., and Tyendinaga Police said that, upon arrival at the residence, officers were told by the male that he had a gun and the male proceeded to barricade the door.
“With the assistance of the Ontario Provincial Police Tactical Response Unit and Critical Incident Command, the residence was dynamically entered and the male was arrested without further incident,” Tyendinaga Police stated.
According to police, a check of the residence was conducted, no firearm of any kind was located, and no further threat to public safety exists.
In a press release on Monday, Nov. 20, 2023, Tyendinaga Police said that, as a result of their investigation, 34-year-old Jordan Brant of Tyendinaga was charged with uttering threats and mischief, and was held in custody, awaiting a bail hearing.
Kingstonist inquired with the Lennox and Addington (L&A) County Detachment of the Ontario Provincial Police (OPP) and the East Region OPP Communications team about this incident on the morning of Monday, Nov. 20, as well as the morning of Tuesday, Nov. 21, 2023.
