Two vehicle collision on Highway 401 near Marysville Road claimed one life

The Ontario Provincial Police (OPP) is investigating a two-vehicle collision on Hwy 401 just west of Marysville Road.

At approximately 11:30 p.m. on Saturday, Jul. 15, 2023, Lennox and Addington County OPP officers responded to the two-vehicle collision in the westbound lanes. A truck towing a car and an SUV were involved.

According to a release from the OPP, the truck towing the car had just lost control and stopped in the live lanes. The SUV then collided with the stopped truck. There were two people in the truck and three people in the SUV.

OPP said that one person was confirmed deceased at the scene from the SUV and all other people were transported to the hospital with unknown injuries.

The OPP Technical Investigators and Collision Reconstructionist are assisting with the ongoing investigation.
