Two vehicle collision in South Frontenac sends ATV driver to hospital

On the evening of Monday, May 6, 2024, a two-vehicle collision at the intersection of Jamieson Road and Loughborough-Portland Boundary Road in South Frontenac Township led to serious injuries.

According to a release from the Ontario Provincial Police (OPP), officers with the Frontenac County Detachment of the OPP responded to the collision just after 8 p.m.

“The passenger car turned left onto the roadway and into the path of the side-by-side all terrain vehicle. The impact caused serious, but not life threatening, injuries to the all terrain vehicle driver who was transported to hospital. The driver of the passenger car was uninjured,” the OPP stated.

Ambulance and fire department officials attended to assist, and the collision investigation caused a temporary blockage of the intersection for 45 minutes, police detailed.

As a result of this incident, both drivers were charged with Highway Traffic offences, the OPP said.

The OPP did not identify any of the involved parties.
