Two Trillium gymnasts qualify for Team Ontario

After a weekend of competition, two athletes with Trillium Gymnastics Club have qualified to represent Team Ontario at the California Grand Invitational.
Alex Duggan and Daley Clarke will represent the province at the California Grand Invitational from Thursday, Jan. 2 to Monday, Jan. 6, 2020 in the level six category.
Duggan and Clarke were among the six Trillium gymnasts that competed on the weekend of Saturday, Nov. 9 to Sunday, Nov. 10, 2019 at the Women’s Artistic Tour Selection in Orangeville, Ont. The competition saw 87 gymnasts compete, and Trillium Gymnastics was well represented, bringing home two gold medals, thanks to Duggan. All of the gymnasts performed well with solid results.
This is the fifth consecutive year Trillium gymnasts have qualified to represent Team Ontario. Additionally, Trillium earned as spot as Team Ontario coach, also for the fifth year in a row. Assistant Head Coach Kelli Gregory will represent Trillium as a Team Ontario Coach for the second year in a row.
The following are the results of all of the Trillium gymnasts:
Alex Duggan placed first all around, earning her the all around gold medal, as well as being named the gold medalist on the beam, and the bronze medalist on the bars. Dugann was also fifth on vault, and ninth on floor.
Daley Clarke placed seventh all around, coming in eighth on the floor and vault, and placing 10th on beam, and 12th on bars.
Kaylee Molleson placed 15th all around, earning the sixth place on vault, seventh place on floor, and eighth place on bars.

This will be Clarke’s first time and Duggan’s second time representing Team Ontario in California. Alex and Daley will take part in a training camp in December for all Team Ontario gymnasts to prepare for Anaheim as well as meet the rest of their teammates and coaches.

Congratulations to all the Trillium gymnasts who competed, and best wishes to Duggan and Clarke as they head to, Anaheim, California in January!
