Two Kingston residents arrested on drug, firearms charges

The Ontario Provincial Police (OPP) have arrested two people and seized a large quantity of drugs and firearms after executing search warrants in Roblin and Kingston.

According to the Lennox and Addington (L&A) County Detachment of the OPP, a search warrant was executed at a residence on Holden Road in Roblin (about 20 kilometres north of Napanee), as well as at a residence on Creekford Road in Kingston. The warrants were executed on Friday, May 26, 2023, as part of a joint Controlled Drugs and Substances Act and firearms investigation, which was carried out by the L&A OPP Community Street Crime Unit and the Kingston Police Street Crime Unit, according to the OPP.

In a press release on Wednesday, May 31, 2023, the OPP disclosed that the following drugs, firearms, and related paraphernalia were seized during the execution of the warrants (weight of substances is approximate):

  • 96 grams of suspected methamphetamine
  • 42 grams of suspected cocaine
  • 12 grams of suspected fentanyl
  • 14 oxycodone pills
  • Eight psilocybin capsules
  • Five firearms
  • Over 400 rounds of ammunition
  • Brass knuckles
  • Digital scales
  • Cash

As a result of the investigation, two Kingston residents were arrested and charged.

Andre Vaughan, 42, was charged with:

  • Five counts of possession of a controlled substance for the purpose of trafficking
  • Five counts of knowledge of unauthorized possession of firearms
  • Five counts of unauthorized possession of firearms
  • Possession of a weapon for a dangerous purpose
  • Possession of property obtained by crime with a value under $5,000
  • 19 counts of possession of a firearm or ammunition contrary to a probation order

Alysha McNamara, 28, was charged with:

  • Five counts of possession of a controlled substance for the purpose of trafficking
  • Possession of a weapon for a dangerous purpose
  • Possession of property obtained by crime with a value under $5,000

According to police, both accused individuals were released from custody following bail hearings and are scheduled to appear at the Ontario Court of Justice in Napanee at a later date.
