Two Kingston Gymnastics Club gymnasts compete at Provincial Championships

The Women’s Artistic Gymnastics (WAG) Level 6 Ontario Championships were held this past weekend, Saturday, Apr. 13 to Sunday, Apr. 14, 2019, in Dorchester, Ont. The Kingston Gymnastics Club had two athletes competing in Level 6 for the 2018-2019 season, and both girls qualified for Championships.

Lena Staszak (age 13, level 6) was ranked 18th out of 119 athletes in Ontario going into Championships. Gracie McDonnell (age 14, level 6) was ranked 49th out of 128 athletes in Ontario going into Championships.

“Congratulations to Lena and Gracie!” said Jennifer Kingston, Club Director at Kingston Gymnastics Club.

Lena Staszak placed 3rd on Bars with a 9.6, 6th on Floor with a 9.533, and finished 7th all around. Gracie McDonell placed 5th on Vault with a 9.466 and finished 23rd all around.

And the athletes at Kingston Gymnastics Club aren’t finished competing yet! Gymnasts in levels 1 through 5 will compete at Twisters Gymnastics Club in Orangeville, Ontario from Thursday, Apr. 25 to Sunday, Apr. 28, 2019.
