Trying to dissuade victim from testifying leads to charges for Kingston man

A local man who attempted to get his female victim in domestic violence related charges to change her testimony is now facing three charges.
According to Kingston Police, the accused man began sending the victim messages on multiple social media platforms between June and September of 2018. The man sent these messages despite his court ordered conditions not to contact the victim as the result of previous domestic violence related charges.
The messages were brought to the attention of Kingston Police, who said they observed messages where the accused man made several attempts to deny the previous domestic incidents. The messages also included those trying to convince the victim to change her testimony, as well as to delete the social media conversation(s).
Kingston Police contacted the accused man on Monday, Dec. 17, 2018, and the man subsequently turned himself in at Kingston Police Headquarters. The 38-year-old Kingston man was charged with obstructing justice, breach of recognizance, and breach of probation.
