Trucks crash into Sydenham house

Ontario Provincial Police and the South Frontenac Fire Department remain on scene on the afternoon of Saturday, Jul. 22, 2023 after two trucks, one towing the other, struck a house in the 2900 block of Rutledge Road in Sydenham.
At around 12:25 p.m., the driver of a pickup truck was towing another pickup truck when, while travelling down a hill, the vehicles lost control and struck a house.
There were no serious injuries in the crash.

One homeowner had just finished mowing the lawn in the area of the collision and had just moved to another area shortly before the collision. Two other residents in the home were not injured.
Multiple witnesses said they had called in complaints to the OPP regarding the vehicles being driven erratically just before the collision.
“(I) drove by this person right before this happened and was shocked with what I saw,” said Marie Lloyd. “totally unsafe towing of (a) truck with someone sitting in the back of it.”
The home suffered moderate structural damage in the incident. One person was in OPP custody while the investigation continued.
This is a developing story, more to come.
Thank God the Homeowners are OK. So sorry their house is not.
Just missed two propane tanks that are/were situated on the left side of this home at the front corner.
Scary. I hope this beautiful Victorian home can be repaired.
