Traffic complaint leads to impaired driving charge for Napanee man

On Sunday, Jul. 31, 2022, members of the Lennox and Addington (L&A) County Detachment of the Ontario Provincial Police (OPP) charged a Napanee resident with impaired driving after receiving a traffic complaint.
At approximately 11:57 a.m., the complaint was received by the OPP officers and officers located the driver. According to a release from the OPP, as part of the investigation, an Approved Screening Device (ASD) was administered. Subsequently, the driver was arrested and transported to the detachment for further testing.
As a result, Ryan Percival, 37 years old, of Napanee, Ontario, was charged with:
- Operation while impaired – alcohol
- Operation while impaired – blood alcohol concentration (80 plus)
Percival was released from custody and is scheduled to appear at the Ontario Court of Justice in Greater Napanee later this month. His licence was suspended for 90 days, and the vehicle was impounded for seven days. He will be responsible for all related fees and fines.
