Traffic complaint leads to discovery of stolen vehicle

Members of the Lennox and Addington (L&A) County Detachment of the Ontario Provincial Police (OPP) have charged one person after he was found behind the wheel of a stolen vehicle.

At approximately 11:30 p.m. on Monday, May 9, 2022, officers responded to a traffic complaint about a vehicle being driven erratically on Highway 33 in Greater Napanee.  

According to a release from the OPP, officers located the vehicle and conducted a traffic stop. Investigation revealed that the vehicle had been stolen. According to the OPP, the vehicle in question is believed to have been stolen from the Kingston area.

As a result, L&A County OPP arrested and charged Sardip Singh, 33 years old, of Vaughan, with:

  • Possession of property obtained by crime over $5,000
  • Three counts of fail to comply with probation order
  • Two counts of driving while under suspension
  • Fail to properly wear seat belt

OPP said that Singh has been held in custody pending a bail hearing.
