Three youths charged with break and enter

After breaking into a residence in Central Kingston, three local youths are now facing a number of charges.

The three accused males came to the residence on Saturday, Apr. 27, 2019 at approximately 11:50 p.m. The male victim, who was resting inside, recognized two of the accused males. One of the accused males messaged the victim on social media, stating that they were not there for him and requesting that the victim remain inside the residence.

The accused males began kicking the front door of the residence, and one was witnessed retrieving a brick from the vehicle they had arrived in. They began uttering threats towards a second male victim as they made entry to the residence and proceed to the second male victim’s bedroom. Fearing for his safety, the second male victim fled through a main floor window. The accused males kicked the bedroom door and forced their way in, and then left the residence.

Two of the accused males were located by police walking nearby at 3:38 a.m. and arrested. Both were transported to police headquarter to be held for bail hearing at a later date.

Police were able to identify the third accused male after further investigation, and arrested him at his residence on Monday, Apr. 29, 2019. The third male was also transported to police headquarters and held to attend a bail hearing at a later date.

The three 17-year-old local men were each charged with break and enter of dwelling house, mischief under $5000, and uttering threats.
