Three males arrested on drug and weapons charges

Three males, including one from Kingston, are facing charges after the Kingston Police Drug Enforcement Unit executed a search warrant in Kingston’s north end.
The warrant was executed at approximately 5 p.m. on Tuesday, Feb. 18, 2020, and also involved the Kingston Police Emergency Response Unit. Police were responding to citizen complaints regarding drug trafficking in the north-end residence. A large police presence was observed in the area of Compton Street and Butler Street at the time.
When police entered the residence, two of the accused males fled the scene through a third-storey bedroom window onto the roof. The pair ran across neighbouring roofs before jumping to the ground and fleeing southbound on foot, according to Kingston Police. Officers gave chase on foot, and the two men jumped fences into numerous backyards. The Kingston Police Canine Unit, which was on scene to assist with the execution of the warrant, also gave chase. The area was contained by police and the two accused males were located by Canine Officer Zeus hiding under a plastic children’s pool. Both men fought with police and Zeus before being taken into the custody.

The two males were arrested and taken to Kingston Police Headquarters, and a third male party was located inside the residence and subsequently arrested. All three parties were held to attend a bail hearing today.
During the search of the residence, police located a fully-loaded sawed-off 12 gauge shotgun inside, along with a quantity of fentanyl, cocaine, and Canadian currency. The total street value of the drugs and currency was over $9,000, according to police.

Wtg Officer Zues and KPD, job well done.
Sorry to nitpick, but just in case the columnist can catch it in time to edit it before too many people see it, when writing about an “officer two secure the area after two parties fled from….” ….I believe he/she meant “officer TO secure the area after TWO parties fled from the residence….”. I truly mean no disrespect, and I do think this is a great and informative article, so thank you kindly….I certainly hope I haven’t overstepped my bounds. Great job KPD!! :)
Good catch! Thanks, Samantha! I shall fix it right away.
They should post the name of the youth. He is playing in an adult world. Face the adult consequences. If found guilty they this stays with him for life. Can’t do the time, don’t do the crime.
I agree , if the youths want to play in a big boy world they should be named and shamed just like an adult, if it’s adult crimes they should do big boy time
